Benjamin is the Associate Director for Scientific Computing at the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute (MSI). He has been solving a wide range of research computing problems for two decades. Ben has led a number of new technology deployments at MSI and works with faculty on problems that span many disciplines and a large solution space. Some of the past work has involved machine learning, workflow management, parallelization, code porting, and data visualization. Ben received his Ph.D. under the direction of Donald G. Truhlar at the University of Minnesota, where he developed wave-based and density-based electronic structure methods.
